New Wine Releases
2006 Winemaker’s Red
This vintage of our “Bordeaux Blend with a twist” has a gorgeous garnet red Bordeaux appearance. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, the structured palate begins with a ripe nose of boysenberry, fresh black cherry cranberry and dustings of Dutch chocolate. The palate is darker with rich black fruit and juicy black currents ending on a bold finish of licorice, coffee, toasty tobacco, vanilla extract and dark chocolate.
2005 Cabernet Franc
This Bordeaux varietal shines on its own, opening with aromas of cassis, sandalwood, dried rose petals and chocolate syrup. The palate is brimming with plump red fruit, black raspberry, and cinnamon stick. Dried blueberry, roasted bacon and caramel linger on the long satisfying finish.
(New releases in October)
2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
Governor’s Trophy “Best Red” “Best of Show”
GOLD MEDAL at THE 2007 Grand Harvest Awards, West Coast Wine Competition and the NW Summit
Our multiple award winning Cabernet Sauvignon opens with notes of black currant, warm spice and a herbaceous nose of dried sage and fresh thyme. Dark red fruit fills the palate with notes of light pepper and toasted oak while lush cocoa bean and walnut skins dominate the long, rewarding finish.
2006 Reserve Chardonnay
New French oak barrels bring mellow toast and a light golden honey hue to this vintage of our Reserve Chardonnay. Beginning with enveloping aromas of roasted pineapple and plump Turkish apricots, the wine coats the palate with sumptuous flavors of poached pear, baked apple and soft tropical fruits. Creamy notes of vanilla bean, mango and soft toasted cashew butter linger on the finish.
2004 Reserve Syrah
Silver Medal at the East Coast Wine Competition &
The Dallas Morning News
This rich concentrated expression of Syrah is the result of vineyard management and cellar care. It is made up of 75% estate fruit (Gunkel Vineyards) and 25% Groth Vineyards. Aged for 16 months on a mix of French and American oak, we racked it into brand new barrels for four months to finish. Cane fruit, black pepper, herbs, cinnamon and blackberry are beautifully framed in tannins and subtle oak that have a long lingering finish.
2005 Reserve Zinfandel
“Our Proprietor’s Reserve Zinfandel has always knocked people’s socks off and the 2005 vintage is no exception. Comprised primarily from grapes grown at Alder Ridge vineyards with a small amount from Gunkel and Milbrandt vineyards this vintage is sure to please with rich berry flavors a wonderful mouth feel and a smooth creamy finish.”

A favorite Columbia Gorge Band, Joanie's Jazz Trio plays vocal and instrumental standards of the past in a cool, bluesy style. Pop hits, swing tunes, and jazz compositions from the Thirties through the Fifties are lovingly performed in a variety of tempos by these three skilled musicians. The group features vocals, flute, keyboards, percussion, and bass. jif@gorge.net
Sunday, November 25 Ben Macy Trio
Young, tight-knit group whose focus on ensemble playing has created a very distinctive style of West Coast Jazz. From Portland, Oregon, the group plays in some of the city's top clubs, including the Portland Art Museum, Tugboat Brewery and the now defunct Jazz De Opus. A talented trio of varying backgrounds, their updated repertoire includes many original songs, with some distinctive interpretations of the standards (and not so stands) added for some spice.
