Full-Time Tasting Room Culinary Support/Utility Person

Description

Must be 21 years of age and able to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday every week. This job includes working at the Maryhill Winery in the kitchen, behind the bar support, wine-carry-outs, stocking, and other support duties at the winery as needed. The position is under the supervision of the Tasting Room Manager, Liz Clark.

Responsibilities not limited to but including:

- Preparing and serving food items in a busy, fast paced kitchen environment
- Keeping an inventory of kitchen supplies
- Drying, polishing, stocking glassware
- Washing dishes
- Providing support to servers behind the bar by opening bottles or other tasks as needed
- Doing carry-outs of wine to customer’s vehicles
- Back-up cash register support
- Stocking wine in the Tasting Room from the basement
- Bussing the terrace and other areas as needed
- Cleaning bathrooms, dusting, mopping
- Other duties as assigned by the Tasting Room Manager

Requirements

- Prior food service experience preferred
- Working Friday, Saturday and Sunday are required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced tasting room.
- Repetitive daily lifting is a requirement of this position. Daily reaching, grasping, bending, twisting and lifting items up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Reliable attendance is a requirement of this position
- Flexibility is a must in this position as the job requires switching tasks quickly in a fast-paced work setting
- Deals with conflict in a professional manner
- Treats others with respect at all times
- Appropriate dress required in the Maryhill Tasting Room
- Demonstrates problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Positive attitude, ability to multi-task and an enthusiastic willingness to learn
- Punctuality a must
