GOLDENDALE WINERY EVENT

Live Music: Scot Bergeron and Rebecca Stonestreet

Saturday August 11, 2018
1:00pm to 5:00pm

Maryhill Winery, 9774 Hwy 14, Goldendale, WA 98620

Complimentary

Enjoy live music on our popular vine-covered terrace every summer weekend, Memorial Day through September, from 1pm-5pm by some of the best performers in the Pacific Northwest.

Longtime Columbia Gorge residents, Scot Bergeron and Rebecca Stonestreet perform classic folk-rock songs with a lively and energetic sound. The duo synergistically reaches audiences with toe-tapping and sing a long songs spanning four decades by favorites like John Denver, Neil Young, Eagles, Cat Stevens and more. Scot plays rhythm/lead guitar, harmonica and is the lead vocal while Rebecca backs him up with bass, percussion, and background vocals.

Scot Bergeron, raised on Lake Sunapee in New Hampshire, started performing professionally in 1980 while attending college in Keene NH. Always involved with school choruses and musicals as a young singer, when sixteen, he took his first guitar lesson so he’d have something to accompany his voice. Since those early years, he’s performed at venues in beautiful resorts in Europe and the Americas. Adventures took him to perform for audiences in the Caribbean for several months with Club Med, in Cancun Mexico, then spent a year entertaining in Switzerland and France when he was twenty-five. Much of his early music performances were at ski resorts in the base lodges or nearby resort hotels. He would spend all day teaching skiing, then rush from his ski locker room to entertain skiers in the lodges. In 1987 while on stage in Jackson Hole, he spotted out in the audience, Rebecca, the woman who performs on stage with him today. Scot and Rebecca have lived in the Columbia Gorge since 1989, but have spent most winters skiing and performing in Park City Utah.

Rebecca Stonestreet grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. Although she started out with different pursuits in life, music always followed her after taking piano lessons at an early age. Those lessons led to her opportunity to perform in her first rock and roll band playing keyboards in 2002. In 2003, Rebecca performed with Savant Garde, a folk-rock trio playing djembe and then eventually adding bass and drums to the sound mix. She is thrilled to play music with her longtime partner Scot and to bring the joy of music to anyone who will listen.

SPOKANE TASTING ROOM

Live Music: Sharon Daggett

Sunday September 2, 2018
4:00pm to 7:00pm

Maryhill Spokane Tasting Room, 1303 W Summit Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane, WA 99201

Join us in the tasting room for live music by Sharon Daggett from 4PM-7PM.

Reminiscent of a high-end Vegas / Club act, Sharon sings the Great American Songbook made popular largely in the 40s, 50’s and 60’s featuring famous composers like Gershwin, Berlin, Cole Porter, Hoagy Carmichael, Sondheim, a lot of “torch”.

Earlier in her life, she sang mostly church music and classical. Thinking that part of her life was over, Sharon did not sing a note for many years and instead pursued other interests. A few years ago she decided to start singing again and found there was quite a lot to do to get her instrument into shape.

June 2017 began a brand new chapter singing songs made popular by singers like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, many of which she had not known before. She finds the memorable melodies, harmonies, and lyrics so evocative, she wishes to share them and share them with you.

Live Music: Misty Mountain Pony Club

Maryhill Spokane Tasting Room, 1303 W Summit Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane, WA 99201

Join us in the tasting room for live music by Misty Mountain Pony Club from 4:00PM-7:00PM.

Sally Jablonsky grew up playing music with her family, hiking around in the desert singing cowboy songs, and learning the old tunes from her extended family at festivals and camps. As well as being firmly rooted in the Appalachian fiddle tradition, she writes new-old-pop-country-time songs that are crooked and lonesome and true. In the Pony Club, Sally plays electric guitar, fiddle, and sings harmonies.

Milo Krims hails from many places-New York and Southern California, among others, and started playing music as a teenager in punk bands. Later he joined up with the oldtime string band, the Peach Colored Jug Smugglers, and toured the country. In his ongoing solo project, Ripe Mangos, he softly shreds on the electric guitar, and sings of wind, wood, ghosts, and being. In the Pony Club, Milo plays guitar, snare drum, and sings lead.

Sally and Milo are the core members of the Misty Mountain Pony Club, with moonlighters such as Ruthie and Eugene Jablonsky, Charley and Peter Gurche, T Scot Wilburn, Jenny Anne Mannan, and Duane Becker. With tight harmonies and a dedication to craftsmanship, the club honors the fiddle tunes and country songs of older times. Having been steeped in traditional American music, their original songs carry that thread of richness and complexity.

Maryhill Spokane Tasting Room, 1303 W Summit Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane, WA 99201

Join us in the tasting room for live music by Jacob Westfall from 5:30PM-8:30PM.

When he isn't writing music for commercial placements, 25-year-old Jacob Westfall is touring the country performing his original music. A frequent flier to Nashville and LA, Jacob is an "always-keep-busy" type. After releasing his latest EP, "What If" produced by the super team of Bob Stark, Ryan Yerdon, and Steve Sundholm, (One Republic, Esperanza Spalding, Puddle of Mudd) he has been honored to entertain on festival stages like the "Bite and Brew of Salem" and the "Mogo Music Festival".

Growing up in a musical household had its advantages, namely the ample supply of instruments and blank notebooks to write on. Jacob began writing songs at the age of 9 and with the mentorship of his family began chasing his musical dream after moving to Portland in 2011. Jacob is currently working hard to plant seeds for the future. He has reunited with Steve Sundholm to produce a full-length record which will be released in the Fall of 2018.

Aside from music, Jacob is an avid basketball player, blues dancer, and food enthusiast. During his free time he can often be found on rec-center courts, Portland ballrooms, and hip restaurants.

Friday October 5, 2018

Maryhill Spokane Tasting Room, 1303 W Summit Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane, WA 99201

Join us in the tasting room for live music by Larry Hirshberg from 5:30PM-8:30PM.

Writing songs and playing guitar since 1978, Hirshberg's been around a few blocks, in a few places, through the years. In 2013, the world of looping came to his feet, and the guitar playing side of things took a decidedly-belted-in position on the pilot's seat of each show.

Designed to encourage visiting the places in your heart that you thought were places in your mind, while comfortably ensconced in the bar-car on Larry's train... this soundtrack pretty much masquerades as a folk song on a porch in Montana but has been known to lift off from Florida, or even Baikonur, and for sure, occasionally goes too far.

SPOKANE TASTING ROOM

Live Music: Tom Catmull

Friday August 24, 2018
5:30pm to 8:30pm

Maryhill Spokane Tasting Room, 1303 W Summit Parkway, Suite 100, Spokane, WA 99201

Join us in the tasting room for live music by The Ronaldos from 5:30PM-8:30PM.

Tom Catmull is a word enthusiast, for lack of a better term. They are the larger part of what makes his world go round. He’s spent the last twenty years attempting to present words in ways that make them as alluring as possible to people who crave such things (and musically “ambushing” those who do not.). The tricks used to this end include melody, arrangement, storytelling, some pre-arranged musical traditions, and a clean shirt. He finds the process of lining up all these shiny, pretty things ridiculously satisfying. His “world-go-round” currently includes seven full-length albums, a growing stack of plastic framed “Best Musician in Missoula” endorsements, a few television appearances, theaters performances, countless honkytonks and one national anthem. There is an alarming amount of confidence that this Americana dog and pony show is worthy of your time. But don’t be fooled, The acoustic guitar and harmonica are just a ploy to get the words out in front of you. Focus in, if the room allows. You’ll be happy you did.

Maryhill Winery, 9774 Hwy 14, Goldendale, WA 98620

Enjoy live music on our popular vine-covered terrace every summer weekend, Memorial Day through September, from 1pm-5pm by some of the best performers in the Pacific Northwest.

The band formed when vocalist Mel Peterson, a South Carolina native transplanted to Ellensburg, met local keyboardist Ben Macy at a jazz jam. Connecting over their shared love of Soul, Motown, and Jazz music, Ben and Mel got a few of their friends together and started playing wineries and parties all over the valley, much to the delight of music lovers everywhere.

Melany Peterson grew up listening to Roberta Flack, Dionne Warrick, Jerry Butler, Isaac Hayes, Aretha Franklin and many other Gospel, Jazz and R & B artists who shaped her musical style. Now, she is one part of the Cooke Canyon Duo which performs a fusion of contemporary-pop, jazz standards and rhythm and blues classics. Melany’s interest in singing took flight at the age of 12 singing in her hometown church in Charleston, SC. There she would often be caught alone playing the piano and singing some of her favorite tunes by Roberta Flack. Melany often reflects back to her favorite artist, Roberta Flack to whom she owes a lot of her sultry vocals and singing style. Yet, remaining true to her own vocal styling, she coins herself as the “Song Bird of the South”.

Live Music: Fox & Bones

Sunday July 1, 2018

Maryhill Winery, 9774 Hwy 14, Goldendale, WA 98620

Enjoy live music on our popular vine-covered terrace every summer weekend, Memorial Day through September, from 1pm-5pm by some of the best performers in the Pacific Northwest.

Fox and Bones is a conceptual folk-pop collaboration between American songwriters Sarah Vitort and Scott Gilmore based in Portland, Oregon. The internationally touring folk-pop duo combines lush harmonies and a complex, heartwarming lyrical landscape with sometimes soft-spoken, sometimes driving musical accompaniment. They’ve been called "addictive like peanut butter" by European music blog Rockette and were voted runner-up for Portland’s Best Folk band by Willamette Week in 2017.

Vienna Wurstelstand gushes: "These two will lull you with their sweet and delicate melodies and woo you with their complex lyrics. Recommended if you like making out slowly"

Following the release of their folksy conceptual LP "The Remarkable Adventures Of" in early 2017, the pair unleashed a new power folk-pop single, titled "Love Me Like a River", on October 6th to critical acclaim. Glide Magazine says the song "reflects the prowess of Hozier with Fleetwood Mac pop overtones that make for a modern day power folk duo." Vortex Magazine chimes in, "While their voices once again cradle and complement one another, there’s also a surging energy pushing their emotive flood forward on 'Love Me Like A River.'"

Perhaps Luke Neill of Portland Radio Project sums it up best. "These two voices meld so perfectly together that you never want to stop listening."
