"I was blown away by Matthew's voice the minute he started to sing. He has an effortless sound!" China Forbes of Pink Martini. The "Ghosts Like Us Acoustic Duo" is the acoustic version of the larger band "Ghosts Like Us". Although less than a year old, Ghosts Like Us has quickly found a home in local haunts like The White Eagle, The Secret Society and The Knock Back as well as being featured at high profile events including playing as the host band for Portland Monthly Magazine's 2013 "Light a Fire" awards dinner at the Portland Art Museum and playing as the featured band at the Weiden Kennedy Center for their community open house. The group was cofounded by song writing duo Matthew Gailey and Peter Lance after collaborating on Matthew's 2013 solo debut EP Beast in Babylon which garnered a Staff Pick from Oregon Music News for its Portland release concert at The Secret Society in February 2013. Gailey, after diving into the Portland music scene a few years ago, has shared the stage with and opened for notables including Portland Cello Project and Pink Martini's China Forbes. The band is rounded out by local drummer, producer and co-owner of Hipstew Studios, Charles Neal and bassist Sam Hallam, a recent transplant from England. They also recently welcomed pianist, organist and producer, Jeff Simonson of Hipstew. www.matthewgailey.com / www.ghostslikeus.com
