Maryhill Winery’s 2012 Carménère Selected as a Favorite by Wines Northwest

Sep 21, 2015

Our 2012 Carménère, a wine-club only wine, has captured the attention of wine enthusiasts across the country. Most recently, it was a favorite among tasters at Wines Northwest during their "Bordeaux Buddies" tasting featuring varietals originating from the Bordeaux region of France.

A member of the Cabernet family of grapes, the name "Carménère" originates from the French word for crimson (carmin) which refers to the brilliant crimson colour of the autumn foliage prior to leaf-fall. With characteristics of plum and cherry mingling with notes of vanilla, caramel and toasty oak, our Carménère is a perfect complement to the crispness of fall.
