Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro Unveils New Brand

Building on the success of its fast casual restaurant at the Vancouver Waterfront, Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro introduces regionally inspired cuisine and a new brand to match

Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro is expanding into the restaurant business, with a new name, new brand and upcoming location in the Seattle market.

Goldendale, Wash. – Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro is expanding into the restaurant business, with a new name, new brand and upcoming location in the Seattle market. Previously known as Maryhill Winery, the award-winning business based in the scenic Columbia River Gorge is now showcasing regionally inspired food along with its approachable, high-quality wines at its locations in Goldendale, Spokane, Vancouver and, coming soon, Woodinville, Wash.

“We’re passionate about expanding our consumers’ palates and introducing them to completely different experiences. Our new culinary program, along with our new name and brand, reflect that adventurous spirit as much as our Pacific Northwest roots,” says Craig Leuthold, co-owner of Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro. “By adding bistros to all our tasting rooms, we are building on our commitment to make high-quality, approachable wines accessible to more people. Our menus, which are centered on locally sourced ingredients, were crafted to complement our award-winning wines, so people can truly understand our wines the way they were meant to be experienced.”

Four Signature Restaurants

By mid-November 2019, Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro will have four signature restaurants, doubling its operations in the Evergreen State over the last two years. Leuthold and his wife, Vicki, recruited Ron Vansaghi to lead its culinary program.

Each Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro’s menu is unique, but all feature charcuterie boards, as well as seafood offerings such as Dungeness crab rolls, salads and small, Mediterranean-inspired plates.

Originally from New Jersey, Vansaghi brings a hospitality background of over 35 years to the Maryhill suite of tasting rooms and restaurants. Previously, he worked as the general manager for Chart House for 15 years, opened and operated pubs in the Portland and Seattle areas, and worked as the food and beverage director for the Heathman Lodge for 17 years.

Each Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro’s menu is unique, but all feature charcuterie boards, as well as seafood offerings such as Dungeness crab rolls, salads and small, Mediterranean-inspired plates. Many menus include ingredients from local partners such as Grand Central Bakery, Olympia Provisions and Moonstruck Chocolate. Food is carefully paired with selections from Maryhill’s vast portfolio, which includes more than 50 unique wines that showcase the diversity of Washington State.

Pizza and Small Plates at Goldendale Winery

Maryhill is best known for its flagship location in Goldendale, Wash., which offers unparalleled views of the Columbia River Gorge and surrounding vineyards. Goldendale’s newly remodeled space includes a 420-square-foot kitchen serving up pizza and small plates. The addition of food offerings enhances the Maryhill experience, which includes live music, wine club dinners, release parties and more.

Waterfront Restaurant in Vancouver, WA

In April 2019, Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro opened a 4,890-square-foot satellite tasting room in Vancouver, Wash., with both indoor and patio seating at Vancouver’s revitalized Waterfront district. The restaurant overlooks the Columbia River and Grant Street Pier, a seven-acre park designed by nationally renowned public artist Larry Kirkland.

New Kitchen in Spokane’s Kendall Yards

Maryhill’s 5,000-square-foot tasting room in Spokane, at the popular Kendall Yards along the Columbia River, this October opened a new kitchen led by chef David Hill, elevating the dining experience. Hill, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, spent the last 25 years running Hills’ Restaurant and Lounge in downtown Spokane, a well-loved restaurant  featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive- Ins and Dives” in 2011.

Coming to Seattle in 2019

In November, Maryhill Winery Tasting Room & Bistro will make a splash into the Seattle market with a 10,000 square-foot winery, fast casual restaurant and event space in the historic Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville, Wash.

“Visiting Maryhill has always been a full sensory experience. Our bistros are bringing that experience to a whole new level,” says Craig Leuthold, who co-founded Maryhill Winery in 1999 with Vicki. Together they have grown the company into one of Washington’s largest and most acclaimed wineries. “Each restaurant offers a unique dining experience with scenic views, indoor and outdoor seating, gourmet food and unique private event spaces —all in a casual, affordable setting,” he adds.
